For the past few days I've been working on an outline for a Chris/Bianca Charmed story that's been languishing in my notebook for a while. Just in the mood to get back to it. And I've discovered an unexpected problem: It's really hard to put a pair in jeopardy when they both have the ability to magically, instantly transport themselves out of harm's way. By contrast, I thought of how on the show, Paige could orb herself out of danger, but if her sisters were there and in danger too, she had to be able to physically reach and put hands on them in order to carry them out with her, and that would constrain her.
Of course, now I'm thinking of times when Paige was in danger and alone, and did the writers bother to think up a reason why she didn't just orb out? Can't remember. Well, if not, I'm going to hold myself to higher standards than the Charmed writers, even when writing fanfic. So at the very least, I have to come up with some magical phlebotinum to explain why, if Chris and Bianca are in peril together, they can't just orb and shimmer out, respectively.
Better still, I suppose, would be to come up with some plot reason comparable to Paige not leaving her sisters behind -- that Chris and Bianca could leave, but choose not to. But that hasn't come to me yet.

After all, we may have all forgotten how to drive in it.
Why is the local TV news freaking out at ZOMG, snow snow snow!!! when not a flake has been spotted? Seriously. In the 30 seconds or so I saw before changing the channel, this one station had a reporter out on the roads somewhere, yapping about how all these drivers plan to cope with SNOW! while she was being hit with absolutely no precipitation of any kind. They really have nothing better to do, have they?
Kansas City has no snow, but I, on the other hand, got some snowflakes in the form of virtual cookies. Thank you, cookie-givers! :D
